Hairdresser from Cutters among the world’s best at hairdressing world championship.

Cutters hairdresser Effrosyni Siouti (23) has quickly made a name for herself among the world’s best in the field. In October 2024, she competed in the Hairdressing World Championship in Paris, earning impressive placements in two demanding categories—just one year after starting as a hairdresser at Cutters. With an 8th place finish in "Skin Fade" and 10th in "Commercial Fade," the Cutters hairdresser stood out among 52 participants from across the globe—highlighting both her talent and the high quality of training within the Cutters system.

Hairdresser at Cutters: from beginner to world-class

Effrosyni’s rapid journey from beginner to elite hairdresser is credited to Cutters’ unique training philosophy. Through intensive education at Cutters Academy, which emphasizes mastering fundamental techniques to deliver top quality in minimal time, she developed exceptional skills. Head of Cutters Academy, Aleksandar Gligoric, expressed immense pride in Effrosyni’s accomplishments and emphasized that her success proves the effectiveness of their training methods.

“That Effrosyni placed in the top 10 in both categories is nothing short of sensational—especially considering she’s only worked as a hairdresser for one year,” said a proud Aleksandar Gligoric, who attended the World Championship in Paris.

“This proves that our unique training philosophy works, and that talent combined with the right education can yield excellent results quickly.”

A confident and driven Cutters hairdresser

Just months after starting at Cutters, Effrosyni entered an internal competition.

“I submitted my photos an hour before the deadline. To my surprise, I won first place,” she said with a smile. That victory earned her a spot in the national championship, where she secured third place in the Skin Fade category.

“I didn’t have much confidence in myself. I do this out of passion. But that third-place finish gave me huge self-confidence as a hairdresser.”

Recently, Effrosyni represented Norway in the World Championship in Paris, competing in the “Commercial Fade” and “Skin Fade” categories. In a highly competitive field of 52 participants, she earned an impressive 8th place in Skin Fade and a solid 10th in Commercial Fade.

“Commercial Fade was challenging. We had to work under strict time limits, which required precision and efficiency,” she explained. “Skin Fade is an advanced technique that demands extreme accuracy—especially with such short hair.” In preparing for the championship, her mentor Aleksandar focused on two key areas: “We worked on precision and efficiency,” he said.

Cutters' unique hairdresser training philosophy

Founded in 2017, Cutters Academy offers tailored training programs for Cutters hairdressers. “We assess each hairdresser’s needs and customize the training,” Aleksandar explained. “This allows talents like Effrosyni to flourish quickly.”

He noted that their approach differs from traditional hairdressing academies. “We don’t focus on hierarchies like junior, senior, or master. Everyone is equal here, and we give everyone the chance to shine.”

Efficiency and quality: the core of a Cutters hairdresser’s day

A common misconception is that Cutters' quick haircuts come at the expense of quality. Effrosyni proves otherwise. “On a busy day, I can do 40–45 haircuts in eight hours,” she said. Yet the quality remains high—she has an average customer rating of 9 out of 10 from around 1,000 clients.

Her mentor nodded in agreement, impressed. “When you cut many times a day and repeat, you become faster and better. That’s the essence of our ‘smart cut’ philosophy,” he added.

For Effrosyni, being a hairdresser at Cutters is about more than just competition. “We’re like a family here!”

A workplace with heart

What sets Cutters apart is not just the technique, but also the environment, camaraderie, and equality that shape a Cutters hairdresser’s daily life. This team spirit permeates the company culture. In the national championship, Effrosyni competed against her own salon manager. “But we cheered each other on and had fun. That shows how teamwork breeds success!” “I wake up every day excited to go to work and meet my colleagues. We support each other—even in competitions.”

An attractive workplace

Earlier this year, Cutters won a prize in the Procuritas Sustainability Awards 2024, topping the category “An Attractive Workplace.”

The winning initiative was their Unisex Haircut Course, which promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion. The course empowers barbers and hairdressers from different backgrounds, especially those from cultures where gender-specific haircuts are restricted.

“By embracing diversity, Cutters has created a more inclusive workplace that enriches both the team and the communities they serve,” the jury remarked.

The future looks bright for Effrosyni and Cutters hairdressers

“These results from the World Championship will help us recruit more skilled hairdressers and strengthen our brand internationally,” said Aleksandar.

Looking back, Effrosyni is proud that all the training paid off. “Hard work pays off. I showed that it’s absolutely possible to do amazing work in just 15 minutes. Cutters has taught me that efficiency and quality go hand in hand.”

Her story is an inspiring example of how talent, dedication, and the right training can lead to success at the highest level. Her achievements not only highlight her own skill—but also put Cutters on the map in the global hairdressing industry.
